Paddling Season Is Far From Over

By Andre Leblanc
North Bay Canoe and Kayak

There are many weeks of good paddling remaining this season. With cooler temperatures, the lack of bugs and magnificent fall colours only Mother Nature could create, the fall season is a great time to paddle on your favorite pond, lake or river. In addition to the lack of bugs and the great colours, fall also brings the return of migrating waterfowl from the north. The sights and sounds of a flock of geese heading south are memories to treasure. If you are lucky, they may even land to take a break on their long voyage south.

If you are a morning person, you will find your favorite spot covered with a light fog brought on by the cool morning temperatures and warm water. There is something serene about paddling through the mist as it burns off, as the sun rises. If you've ever thought of taking up photography as a hobby, these scenes make award-winning photographs.

The other benefit is the lack of people out in the wilderness. With school back in, finding good campsites should not be a problem. Although it can be cool, don't let it be a deterrent. Dress in layers that you can shed as the temperature climbs. This is really a special time of the year to enjoy the outdoors. As our motto goes…..Experience Nature!

Take advantage of our End of Season Sale on now. If you have been waiting for the best prices of the season, then your wait is over. North Bay Canoe and Kayak's End of Season Sale ends September 13th. 2822 Hwy 17, 5 minutes East of North Bay. (705) 752-1770 or toll free 1-800-927-1290.
