What a Great Summer!

Wow - when can you remember a summer as great as this one? The weather was spectacular and there was enough water for the Chief Commanda to float! Summer in the Park was a real success, and I expect the Country Open to be another treat!

I want to chat a bit about Summer in the Park and why I believe this is a great model for us to follow in the future. First, it's FREE! The costs are borne by the sponsors - there is no cost to the families who visit. There are no wristbands required; anyone can come and go as they please. If it rains - well, there is no financial loss to the taxpayer. This is a real model that is a win-win for the entire community.

The place was packed with families during the day, and concert-goers all night. David Usher and Trooper were great and the kids had fun at the inflatable movie on Friday night. From the petting zoo to the inflatables, the food vendors and the Midway, everyone had a fabulous time.

Again, I really believe this is the right model - a FREE family-friendly day, and FREE concerts at night - what more can we ask for? You can always reach me at mayor@cityofnorthbay.ca and you can expect an immediate response. See you next month! Mayor Vic Fedeli.
