Be Careful Out There: Sewing Machine Service, Repair or Purchase new .

These are some situations an owner of a sewing machine will encounter at some point.

SERVICE

Service is a function to a sewing machine as service is to any other product that has moving metal to metal parts , they do require maintenance , ie lubicration (grease and oil) of some kind.

While some newer machines have special bearings that either require SPECIAL or NO OIL,..other parts in the same machine DO REQUIRE lubrication . The frequency of servicing however is related to USE.

If you sew 2 to 3 times a year (2,4 hours), then of course not as often , but if 2 to 3 times a month than more often , or 2 to 3 times a week than of course more often again (could be twice a year ). If not done parts begin to wear and problems start to show up.

REPAIR

This type of service can happen any time. The OPPSIES!! can and will happen, and when they do ,..it's generally in the middle of a project, or just in general sewing . When it happens you need a repair or reset of something that's out of adjustment . Emergency???

NEW SEWING MACHINE ?

The purchase of a new machine is a personal decision . For it's because this ones worn out, too much trouble, not enough stitches or functions for required sewing techniques or I just want a new machine.

BEWARE BEWARE,.... of the situation where you go for a service and someone says right away you need to trade up or you need a new machine. That person may be trying to make or force (coerce) you into a new machine whether you need it or not, for a commission or personal profit, more than necessarily your need for a new machine. If this happens, get the repair or service to yours and allow yourself time to really think about replacing your machine ,..with one YOU want WHEN you're ready. Be careful out there.
