We have participated in many rides this year, including the Ride to Remember where we helped the event raise nearly $20,000 for the Tony Stacey Centre that allows veterans and their spouses to live together into old age. There were also some local rides such as the 3rd Annual Ride Against Crime put on by the Blue Knights and the Papa Joe Ride where we helped raise funds towards new hospital equipment for the North Bay Hospital. We truly enjoy supporting local events while we get to have fun and ride with friends!
We will be holding our own ride on the 25th of September in support of Muscular Dystrophy as the Nathan Ride of Hope Poker Run for North Bay and area. We hope to see many of you there!
Hicksie and Swampy have since completed the trip to Kenora for our National Annual CAV meeting and Freefall has returned from riding the Tail of The Dragon. Ladybug and myself will be at the Wharf Rat Rally in Digby and hope that one day we can have a similar event here in The Bay! Interested politicians and/or bike group leaders please contact me if you think this is a good idea!
We plan to have a fall color ride one day in early October to pass through Pembroke and down 41 to the 60, through Algonquin Park and then 11 North to home. We will do this ride with Petawawa's Anzio Unit. More info at: www.thecav.ca or email me at: kcunac@gmail.com
